AVA3
Introduction
Quality Assurance (QA) for PhD programs at the University of Chieti-Pescara is developed in accordance with the AVA3 (Self-assessment – periodic assessment - accreditation) guidelines proposed by ANVUR. The primary objective is to ensure continuous improvement in the quality of training and research in doctoral programs, fostering an academic environment that promotes excellence, transparency, and accountability.
The Quality Assurance System According to ANVUR - AVA3 Guidelines
1. What does the AVA3 system entail? The ANVUR AVA3 system is structured into three fundamental processes:
- Self-evaluation: Each doctoral program conducts an internal evaluation to monitor the effectiveness of its educational program and the quality of its research. This process aims to identify strengths and areas for improvement.
- Periodic Evaluation: ANVUR periodically evaluates doctoral programs to ensure they meet quality requirements and that the educational offerings are consistent with national and international needs.
- Accreditation: The accreditation process ensures that doctoral programs meet the standards defined by ANVUR and the Ministry of University and Research (MUR), ensuring the quality of their educational offerings.
2. Principles of the Quality Assurance System for Doctoral Programs:
- Student and Researcher Centrality: The system places particular emphasis on supporting and developing the skills of doctoral students, enhancing their research.
- Transparency and Accountability: Each phase of the QA process is documented and transparent, to promote clear communication with the academic community and stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement: Through feedback collection and continuous monitoring, the QA system aims to continuously improve the learning experience and the quality of research.
